"A Soothing Melody" Marble/Bronze Bird,
26"Hx20"Wx9"D. 215 lbs. (Can go outside) An Elder Native American woman rescuing a baby bird, protecting it from the wind with her blanket and whistling to calm it. When I saw the stripes in the stone, they reminded me of an Indian blanket which led to this design. The stone is naturally flat on the back which I left and carved only the front and sides. I enjoyed making several tool marks for variety. A bushing hammer for her dress, files to simulate her blowing hair, and polishing her face and the blanket. She is a Peaceful and Calming Sculpture.
