"Patience Pays Off" Brucite, Finshed

This piece started as two plant leaf forms. After getting the leaves shaped, they seemed empty. I decided to carve a lizard on one leaf. When you look at this photo you can see that the back of the lizard is the top of the previous leaf was. After shaping the lizard, there is a serendipitous darker color in the shape of a butterfly! While working on the rest of the sculpture, it gave me time to decide in carving out the butterfly or not? Realizing that the Title came naturally while carving, it gave reason for the butterfly (food) to be there. This stone is very hard, which I took advantage to carve under the toes, legs, tail.
