"Memorial Day" Acrylic
24"Hx28"W.
The idea for this painting came when there was news reporting a sighting of an Ivory Billed Woodpecker, beleived to be extinct since the 40's. This is a statement how humans keep ravaging nature. I studied the specimens at the history museum to depict the "only live one" visiting it's deceased relatives. Hopefully causing the same grief to humans, making them feel the same loss that animals feel while we hunt them and detroy their habitats.
